Day 1: Hanoi – Mai Chau – Walking 2,5 hours
Pick up at the hotel and depart to Mai Chau Valley of the Thai ethnic. Upon arrival you get to take a walking tour around one of picturesque villages. Enjoy a sumptuous dinner whilst watching traditional local dancing. Overnight in a traditional Thai Stilt House.
Day 2: Mai Chau- Moc Chau – Son La – Walking 4-5 hours
After breakfast, depart for the north to Son La. Along the way, get to visit Moc Chau, a highland town which produces some of Vietnam’s best tea ( to see there are may tea plantation on the way) and milk products. Upon arrival in Son La, check in to hotel and have lunch. After lunch, visit the old French Prison and learn about the history of the area. Then explore the local market and mingle with different minorities and maybe find some handicrafts of interest. Stay overnight at hotel in Son La.
Day 3: Son La – Pha Din Pass – Dien Bien Phu ( B/L/D)
Get take out breakfast for the early start and continue driving north over some impressive mountain passes with fantastic views on the way to Dien Bien Phu city. Stop for lunch in Tuan Giao. Continue on to Dien Bien and enjoy the spectacular scenery of Pha Din pass. In the afternoon, visit Dien Bien Phu, the last base of the French colonial power in Indochina. After dinner, be free to explore the nightlife of this remote mountain city. Stay overnight at hotel in Dien Bien.
Day 4: Dien Bien Phu – Lai Chau – Tam Duong – Sapa (B/L/D)
Depart from Dien Bien to Lai Chau. Along the drive, pass many different minority villages of the minorities as Black Hmoung, Black Thai, Black Dao, Lu People, and Giay minority dot the landscape. After lunch at Tam Duong (old Binh Lu), go to Sapa via the highest road pass in Vietnam, Tram Ton Pass/ Heaven Gate. Dinner and stay overnight in the town of Sapa.
Day 5: Sapa - Muong Hoa Valley (B/L/D)
After breakfast, visit the daily market and see many minorities in daily shopping mode. Take time to look for handicrafts and buy directly from the maker. After lunch, visit Muong Hoa valley and take a short walking from Lao Chai village of Black Hmong to Ta Van village of Giay. Stop at local houses to talk with local people or take some photos. Dinner and stay overnight in the town of Sapa.
Day 6: Ban Ho Valley Trek then drive to Bac Ha in the afternoon (B/L/D)
Depart for Su Pan from and walk downhill through the breathtaking scenery. On the way, pass through the Tay Minority village of Ban Ho village where will be able to see the stunning views of the valley and trekking across paddy fields, villages and streams. Explore the Ban Ho village of Tay minority before crossing the suspension bridge over the river. Lunch in a local house. The walk then continues through the rice fields to the Red Dao village of Nam Toong. Take heading back to Ban Ho and return to hotel. Dinner and stay overnight in the town of Sapa.
Day 7: Bac Ha – Si Ma Cai- Coc Ly – Lao Cai – Hanoi. (B/L/D)
Drive along some spectacular roads to the north of Bac Ha for visiting border village of Si Ma Cai, stop at the weekly Can Cau Market on the way up. After lunch at Bac Ha, continue to Bao Nhai, a town along the road to Lao Cai, where take a small boat for a short excursion the river to Coc Ly. Back the hotel for showering before boarding the train to Hanoi and have a farewell dinner in Lao Cai. Overnight on train. Arrive Ha Noi in the early morning. End trip.
